A companion to Google Classroom. It puts every subject’s assignments, notes, exams and revision in one place, writes study notes from your teachers’ material, and lets you ask doubts and give feedback.

No. Desk is free for students and faculty during its launch.

Not for students: it only reads. Teachers can choose to post an assignment from Desk, and it appears in their Classroom course like any other.

It checks Classroom in the background while you have it open. If something new is posted while you’re using it, an Update button appears at the top so nothing moves under you. If you weren’t looking, it updates by itself.

The bell shows deadlines in the next two days, missing work, grades, new assignments and notes, answers to your doubts and exams coming up. Turn on desktop notifications in Settings to get them even when Desk is in another tab.

Your browser may be blocking them. Allow notifications for Desk in your browser’s site settings, then turn them on again in Settings. Desk needs to be open in a tab for desktop notifications to arrive.

From the lecture note you pick, and only that note. They include a summary, key points, key terms and likely exam questions. They can contain mistakes, so check them against the original.

From your exam timetable and each subject’s syllabus. Every unit gets a session, spread evenly before the exam, with past papers after and a full revision the day before. Subjects are mixed so you don’t spend a whole day on one. Tick sessions off as you go; your ticks stay on your device.

The teacher of that subject. Tick “Ask anonymously” and they won’t see your name; you’ll still see the answer.

Teachers can’t see who sent it. Your name isn’t stored with it, only a one-way code that allows one response per subject each week. Comments appear to the teacher only after three students respond, and feedback never triggers a notification.

Ask the Desk team and it’s deleted within 30 days. You can also revoke Desk’s access in your Google account settings at any time.
